A Step Ahead Children's Nursery opened in November 2000 and was originally registered for a total of 28 children under 8 years of age. It had two main rooms, in a purpose built building in the village of Lower Beeding, near Horsham.

In August 2007 this building was extensively refurbished, and has now doubled in size. We now have 3 main rooms, the Monkey Room (3-4 Years), the Koala Room (2-3 years) and the Ladybird Room (Babies 3 Months+).

The new structure means that that the children have more freedom of choice and many things to stimulate them throughout the day.

Our new addition is the baby room, this room can accommodate 12 babies.  Our Ladybird Roomis separate from all the other rooms and has a designated sleep room, eating and play area. There are 2 nappy change areas for the babies and a bright and happy environment for them to play and learn in.

At lunch time we serve a hot homemade meal prepared onsite trying use as much organically grown produce as possible. We also open a snack bar in the morning and afternoon where the children have a choice of food this usually comprises of a cracker, choice of fruit and a drink usually milk or water.  A small meal is prepared at tea time.

We are all really excited about the changes that are taking place in our nursery and take pride in making our environment a secure, happy and fun place to learn and play in, and look forward to developing this further.
